K + Pro - Potassium Test Professional for saltwater aquariums

Measuring range: 300 - 500 mg/l

Resolution: 5 mg/l

Potassium is a vital macronutrient for all living organisms. In natural seawater, the alkali metal is present at an average concentration of 408 mg/l. In saltwater aquariums, the potassium concentration can usually be maintained stable through regular water changes. However, potassium deficiencies can occur in some tanks due to the use of zeolites and other adsorbents. One sign of a possible potassium deficiency is the noticeable discoloration of corals and the retraction of polyps. In saltwater aquariums, the potassium concentration should be checked regularly and maintained between 380 and 420 mg/l.

The advantages at a glance:

Measuring range: 300 – 500 mg/l
Resolution (accuracy): 5 mg/l
for determining the potassium concentration in saltwater aquariums
sufficient for approx. 50 applications
including standard for checking the test for function and durability
  • 12 ml potassium standard (400 mg/l)
  • 25 ml Reagent A
  • 25 ml Reagent B
  • 5 ml Reagent C
  • 30 ml Reagent D
  • 2 glass cuvettes 10 ml
  • 3 dosing syringes 1 ml with attachment
  • 1 instruction manual

Recommended use:

A notice: The accuracy of the measurement results can be increased by determining a correction value. This involves performing a measurement with the potassium standard. This measurement yields a correction value that should be taken into account for every potassium measurement. We recommend determining the correction value again every 3-4 weeks.

1. Determination of the correction value:

1.1 If you have recently determined the correction value, go to point 2 “Potassium determination”.
1.2 Shake all reagent bottles before use!
1.3 Place a clean nozzle onto the 1 ml dosing syringe with the green plunger, which should be as dry as possible, and draw up 1 ml of potassium standard. The entire amount i

If the potassium concentration in the water is too high, we recommend carrying out a partial water change.
