Highest efficiency
BACTO BALLS are completely reef-safe and a highly effective method for preventing elevated nutrient levels and unsightly algae growth in saltwater aquariums. Crystal-clear water is achieved through effective nutrient control and easy dosing with BACTO BALLS depot bacteria.
Ingeniously simple dosage
Simply place BACTO BALLS in the filter every 2-3 weeks. Our polymer matrix, which is stable in seawater, releases the bacteria slowly and in a controlled manner into the aquarium. This avoids daily dosing and unwanted dosing peaks.
Dosage:
- Every 2 weeks, add 2 BACTO BALLS / 100 liters to a flowing area of the filter, ideally in a filter bag or sock
- Start with half the dosage for the first use
- For aquariums without skimmer technology, quarter the dosage
- If necessary, the quantity can be doubled

- Make sure that the balls are not in the suction area of pumps
Special composition
The unique composition of the carrier material was developed specifically for use in seawater. Regular jelly acts as an additional carbon source, dissolving more quickly and making controlled release impossible. The composition of the bacteria was specifically developed for the needs of reef aquariums and ensures a stable and species-rich bacterial culture. Excess bacteria serve as food for corals and protozoa or are skimmed off.
Natural and reef-safe
With Bacto Reef Balls you get reef-safe marine bacteria (when used correctly and filtered through a high-performance protein skimmer), which are released slowly and evenly into the water immediately after being added to the aquarium and begin their work there: the breakdown of nitrogen and phosphates.
For a healthy and natural aquarium environment
BACTO BALLS contain live bacteria that live and are perfectly protected in their gel shell.
Once opened, store the can tightly closed in a cool, dark place. Consume opened BACTO BALLS within 6-9 months.
TIPS:
- Make sure that the balls are not placed near the suction of a pump
- BACTO BALLS slowly dissolve upon contact with water over the next 2-4 weeks. During this time, natural bacteria and a highly effective enzyme solution are introduced into the water.
- After adding BACTO BALLS, your skimmer's performance may increase significantly. This is the first sign of increased nutrient degradation.
- By adding or removing BACTO BALLS you can determine the exact needs of your aquarium.
- A general dosage cannot be given due to the individuality of the aquariums and their population.
- We recommend starting with half the recommended dose and gradually adding more BACTO REEF BALLS until you reach the desired levels.
- Check this by testing the water regularly.

Storage instructions :
- The product has a minimum shelf life of approximately 3 years unopened.
- Store it in a dry place, protected from light, at normal room temperature.
- Avoid contaminating the product with bacteria or dirt.
- Make sure that children do not have access to the products being used or stored.
Disposal :
- The empty bottle can be disposed of with household waste or at recycling centers.
- Please observe your local regulations regarding waste disposal.
Warnings: H 319: Causes serious eye irritation. P 305+351+338: IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
